SBCD draws crowd despite overcast skies

DESPITE overcast skies and intermittent rain, more than 2,000 people attended the 15th annual Southern Bulk Carriers Day October 7 in Houston TX. About 50 vendors displayed products in the show.

Lone Star Ramblers provided live entertainment and the barbecue lunch came from B&B Kookers and was sponsored by ChevronTexaco, Cummins Southern Plains Ltd, and Houston Freightliner Inc.

Other sponsors include Trailers of Texas Inc, the stage; Jack Beal, Bealine Service Co Inc, and Jack Olsta, The Jack Olsta Co, parking and traffic management; Dennis Herrington, Service Transport Company, golf cart volunteers coordinator; Azalia Tennis, Quality Carriers Inc, ticket booth and show entry; and Gail Moore and Patrick C Long, Texas Tank Truck Carriers Association, SBCD coordinators.
