QD forms new affiliate firm

Quality Distribution Inc (QD) has announced the formation of a new affiliate company, Quality Tank Container Transport Inc, and the appointment of Richard “Rick” Dorsey as its president.
Dorsey joins QD from MOL America, where he most recently served as senior vice-president and general manager of its transport group. Before that, he was executive vice-president of MOL Intermodal Inc. He also held senior-level positions with Piggyback Services and the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.
Headquartered in Tampa FL, QD operates about 3,800 tractors and 7,800 trailers through its two principal transportation subsidiaries: Quality Carriers Inc and Quebec-based Levy Transport.
