Program provides HAZWOPER training

HAZWOPER: Emergency Response Training for Employees, a new program from J J Keller & Associates Inc, provides emergency response teams with required HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations Emergency Response) training.
The program covers emergency response requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's HAZWOPER regulations, explaining what is expected of team members before, during, and after a hazardous chemical incident. Actions are detailed according to the five levels of involvement specified by OSHA: first responder awareness level, first responder operations level, hazmat technician, hazmat specialist, and on-scene incident commander.
An 18-minute video demonstrates each responder role by following an incident from the time the hazardous substance is released to the final incident debriefing and recordkeeping. Topics covered in the video include recognition, notification, risk assessment, PPE, and decontamination.
