Prime Inc makes LDW system standard

Jul 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Prime Inc, a refrigerated, flatbed, and tanker carrier, will offer Iteris' Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system as standard equipment on its national fleet of 2,600 leased and company-owned trucks.

The Springfield MO-based firm has already installed more than 100 Iteris LDW vision-based systems and expects to have its company-owned trucks fully outfitted within the year. LDW systems will also be provided to drivers of leased trucks at no extra cost on their lease and will be installed at Prime's Springfield facilities.

The addition of Prime, the largest United States fleet to make the LDW system standard so far, brings the total of fleets specifying the system to 25 — or nearly 13,000 trucks. Another 50 fleets with about 105,000 trucks are conducting field tests.
