Praxair selects Ruan

Praxair has signed a five-year contract to allow Ruan Transportation Management Systems to deliver industrial gases to its customers from its East Chicago IN plant. Praxair's desire to focus on its core competency in industrial gases makes outsourcing to a third-party like Ruan for transportation logical. Companies such as Ruan have better purchasing power for acquiring newer equipment, parts and maintenance, and the ability to train drivers.
The contract became official February 17, and Ruan is already in the process of delivering product.
Besides the new dedicated carriage service, Praxair also uses Ruan's full-service lease and management services to Praxair locations throughout the United States.
