Overpass completion seen as FAST Corridor success

With attention focusing on the upcoming reauthorization of TEA-21, the Coalition for America's Gateways and Trade Corridors (CAGTC), along with coalition members Washington State Department of Transportation, and Ports of Seattle and Tacoma, celebrated the Auburn overpass completion. This marks the first FAST (Freight Action Strategic) Corridor project to be completed between the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma.
The project began in 1993 with the intent to realign westbound State Route 18 ramps with the intersection of C and Third streets southwest. The $30.6-million project represents efforts and money from the City of Auburn, King County, Washington State DOT, Ports of Seattle and Tacoma, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad, regional planning agencies, and developers.
