Odyssey Logistics acquires Omni Logistics

Apr 1, 2004 12:00 PM

Odyssey Logistics Technology Corp, a provider of global transportation and logistics services to process manufacturers, has acquired Omni Logistics, a bulk trucking service provider. The Omni acquisition reportedly makes Odyssey the largest non-asset owning bulk trucking company in the United States. The acquisition was concluded by Odyssey Overland Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Odyssey Logistics & Technology. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

This acquisition will add a bulk transportation network to Odyssey's service offering. Omni's technology uses complex algorithms to match cargo movements and determine scenarios that allow improvements in the continuous loaded miles a truck can travel.

Omni's existing infrastructure will be integrated into Odyssey's Global Trading Platform, a Net-native transportation management infrastructure. Its customer base of more than 200 process, chemical, and consumer packaged goods manufacturers will benefit from Odyssey's logistics management services.
