NASCENT Technology LLC, provider of technical systems for the transportation industry, has been awarded a contract from Norfolk Southern Corp to provide its Synapse automated gate system (AGS) for the Croxton Intermodal Facility in Jersey City NJ.

NASCENT will deploy the same Synapse AGS system currently in use at the NS Whitaker Intermodal Facility in Austell GA. The system allows terminals to increase the gate throughput of ISO, intermodal containers, and trailers, while reducing data entry error rates. Combining inspection “portals,” optical character recognition, digital cameras, and voice-over-IP-enabled communication kiosks, the system facilitates remote communications and information gathering.
