ISI Exhibits Respirators

Feb 1, 1998 12:00 PM

International Safety Instruments exhibited its Airline Respirator Apparatus/Escape-15 (ARAP/E), a NIOSH-approved, high-performance type C airline respirator with a built-in emergency egress cylinder that gives the user 15 minutes of escape air. A worker can enter immediately-dangerous-to-life- and-health (IDLH) atmospheres with the confidence that plenty of air is available for a quick and orderly egress to safety, the company says.

Flow from the ARAP/E-15 is in excess of 600 liters per minute. This means that users can breathe at their pace without having to wait for the respirator to catch up.

The Panaseal facemask is available in neoprene or silicone. Reverted-edge ensures proper seal. Standard nosecup eliminates fogging. The harness is available in nylon or Kevlar. The ARAP/E-15 weighs 11.5 lb and can be attached to 300 feet of airline. It is the newest member of ISI's family of type C respirators.
