Industry Safety Achievement Award goes to Quade

Thirteen associations representing the chemical, industrial, and fuel gases industries presented the 2006 Industry Safety Achievement Award to William A Quade, director of the Office of Enforcement and Compliance, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, United States Department of Transportation.

John Conley, president of National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC), nominated Bill Quade because of his work on the development of the NTTC's Cargo Tank Test and Inspection Workshop program.

The Industry Safety Achievement Award is periodically presented to a public sector individual or organization for recognized leadership and cooperation with industry in developing, promoting, and enhancing safety in the public interest.

Sponsors of the award are: the American Chemistry Council, the American Petroleum Institute, The Chlorine Institute, the Compressed Gas Association, the Consumer Specialty Products Association, CropLife America, the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council, the Gases and Welding Distributors Association, The Institute of Makers of Explosives, the International Oxygen Manufacturers Association, the National Association of Chemical Distributors, the National Propane Gas Association, and the NTTC.
