Imperium gets green light for biodiesel plant

Dec 1, 2006 12:00 PM

lmperium Renewables has resolved the final issue needed for full construction to begin on its biodiesel plant in Grays Harbor WA. The plant will be the largest in the United States.

The issue that had held up progress was with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and a technicality on an inaccurate map designation. Sen Maria Cantwell, Sen Patty Murray, Rep Norm Dicks, and Rep Dave Reichert and their staffs worked diligently and quickly to help resolve the issue.

The new plant will produce up to 100 million gallons of biodiesel fuel mainly from soybean, canola oil, and other extracts. It is expected to create up to 50 direct and up to 350 indirect jobs in Grays Harbor County.
