Houston Ship Channel tour on tap for ILTA meeting

Apr 1, 2003 12:00 PM

The Independent Liquid Terminals Association (ILTA) has scheduled a tour of the Houston Ship Channel as part of the events for the annual convention and exhibition.

A Port of Houston public charter boat, the M/V Sam Houston, offers a 90-minute roundtrip cruise along the channel. Measuring 95 feet in length and 24 feet in width, the boat has air-conditioned lounge seating and additional standing room on the boat's rear deck.

Sights on the cruise include international cargo vessels, operations at the port's Turning Basin Terminal, and some of the largest petroleum and chemical storage terminals in the world.

ILTA will provide roundtrip bus transportation between the Adam's Mark Hotel and the boat. Buses will leave the hotel promptly at 1:15 pm Tuesday. Space is limited. Port security measures require advance registration and government-issued photo identification for all passengers.
