Jeffrey A Rosen has joined the United States Department of Transportation as the new general counsel. President Bush nominated him October 3, and he was confirmed December 9 by the US Senate. A Virginia resident, Rosen came to the DOT from the national law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Washington DC, where he had been a senior partner in the litigation practice, and a member of the firm's management committee.
