United States Transportation Secretary Norman Y Mineta has announced the appointment of John H Hill as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) chief safety officer and assistant administrator. He will assume his new positions June 1. Hill comes to FMCSA from the Indiana State Police, where most recently he was the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division commander.
