GLT&T wins 10th Shell 4-Star award

GREAT Lakes Transportation & Terminal Corp, Arlington Heights, Illinois, became the first 10-year winner of Shell Chemical's 4-Star Carrier Award. The fleet was one of five tank truck carriers honored for outstanding performance during 2002. The awards were presented May 15 during a dinner cruise on Clear Lake, near Houston, Texas.

Carriers honored in addition to Great Lakes Transportation & Terminal Corp were Krajack Tank Lines Inc, Keasbey, New Jersey; Mission Companies, Houston, Texas; System Transport, Long Beach, California; and Superior Carriers Inc, Oak Brook, Illinois.

Great Lakes Transportation & Terminal Corp has been an annual winner throughout the decade that the Shell Chemical 4-Star Carrier program has been in place. Krajack Tank Lines and System Transport are nine-time winners.

Three award winners had an overall performance score of 100%: Great Lakes Transportation & Terminal Corp, Krajack Tank Lines, and System Transport. Mission Companies and Superior Carriers were at 99.8%.
