EXSIF Worldwide Inc, a member of The Marmon Group, has purchased the intermodal tank container assets of Transamerica Leasing Inc, a subsidiary of Transamerica Finance Corp. An agreement to the deal was announced in July 2000.

Addition of this fleet makes EXSIF Worldwide the world's largest lessor of ISO tank equipment, according to EXSIF. The combined fleet includes more than 22,000 tank containers and chassis leased to international chemical firms and logistics operators specializing in bulk liquid transportation. Types include IMO 1, 2, and 5 as well as specialized tank designs.

EXSIF Worldwide, a newly established company, will occupy the former Transamerica tank container headquarters in Purchase NY. The company will operate regional offices in Paris, Houston TX, and Singapore, and provide customer support through an existing international network of sales offices, agents, and depots.

The acquisition complements the 1999 purchase of EXSIF SAS, a France-based lessor of tank containers, and its United States affiliate, EXSIF (US) Inc.

Jeremy Bergbaum, chief operating officer of Transamerica's tank container business, has been named president of EXSIF Worldwide. Patrick Dupuis, managing director of EXSIF SAS, will head European operations.
