DistTech bestows first Michael Carter Award

Mar 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Distribution Technologies (DistTech) presented the inaugural Michael J Carter Memorial Award to its Rancho Cucamonga CA terminal. The honor is bestowed upon the facility that achieves the highest levels of customer service, operational excellence, and safety during the previous calendar year.

This award is named for Mike Carter, formerly director-Midwest operations for DistTech who died in 2005 after nearly two decades with the company. Carter began his career with DistTech in 1987 as a driver. Over the years, he was promoted to roles of increasing responsibility in terminal, field, and corporate operations.

Carter's family, including his widow Kim, son Jeremy, daughter Micah, and mother Sally, presented the award to the Rancho Cucamonga facility at DistTech's annual operations banquet.
