CYRO Industries selects Odyssey for outsourcing

May 1, 2004 12:00 PM

Odyssey Logistics & Technology Corp, a provider of global transportation and logistics services to process manufacturers, announced that CYRO Industries, a provider of acrylic and acrylic-based products and joint venture between a subsidiary of Degussa AG and Cytec Industries, has signed a multiyear contract to outsource all its logistics functions to Odyssey.

Through this relationship, CYRO will reduce transportation costs, improve asset utilization and efficiency, and enhance visibility throughout its supply chain. The company aims to increase on-time shipment performance and provide greater access to its customers to track the status of their deliveries.

Before selecting Odyssey, CYRO was managing its logistics functions in-house and using a legacy system for tasks such as managing carriers, freight payment, and shipment tracking and tracing. The company has four plants and five major distribution centers throughout the United States and Canada, and its back-end ERP system will be fully integrated into Odyssey's freight planning platform.
