Correction for incorrect headline

Apr 22, 2003 12:00 PM

A headline posted March 1 on bulktransporter.com incorrectly stated that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is planning to institute a fee for hazmat registration. At the Cooperative Hazardous Materials Enforcement Development (COHMED) conference held in Houston TX January 12, William Quade, FMCSA hazardous materials division chief, said the agency is considering instituting a hazardous materials registration. But, unlike a Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) registration that does require a fee, the FMCSA registration will not.
