Three groups will converge on Anaheim CA in November

The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) will hold the International Intermodal Expo and its annual membership meeting Nov 17-20, 2002, at the Anaheim (CA) Convention Center. Co-located with these events, the National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) will conduct its 95th annual meeting and TransComp 2002 exhibition.

In addition, the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) will conduct its fall meeting. Registrants will have access to all functions and activities (except for member-only meetings of the organizations) taking place during the shows.

November 18's joint opening session will feature a keynote address by Steven L Miller, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Shell Oil Co. Miller will bring a strategic global perspective to the future of moving freight.

At the International Intermodal Expo and TransComp 2002, more than 300 exhibitors will showcase products and services on 200,000 square feet of floor space.

Joint plenary sessions will explore the trends for the future of supply chain management and examine highway transportation issues. Nine educational seminars will cover issues facing shippers, carriers, and intermediaries.

ITS attendance figures outshine totals for 2001

Final results were released for the 2002 International Trucking Show held June 27-29, 2002, at the Las Vegas (NV) Convention Center.

Truck operator registrations (fleets and owner operators combined) were up 14.25%. Total registrations were up 2% for a total of 27,904. This year's ITS hosted almost 500 exhibitors and included major truck OEMs and hundreds of other industry-related suppliers. The show provided training seminars and the ITS Show & Shine/Stars and Stripes truck “beauty contest.”
