ChemTrans, a dba of Radford Alexander Corp, and Odyssey Transportation announced a strategic alliance to merge their Southern California operations and deliver more liquid bulk transportation services mainly in the western United States.

Under the arrangement, ChemTrans will take over control of all billing and dispatching functions, and Odyssey will operate as an affiliate to ChemTrans, whereby drivers and equipment owned by Odyssey will be permanently leased to ChemTrans. The new fleet will operate under the ChemTrans name. This changeover takes effect Feb 1, 2006.

This alliance was established to allow the new entity to realize greater cooperation in liquid bulk transportation as well as capitalize on the accessorial industries in which ChemTrans is involved. Avalon Premium Tank Cleaning and Avalon Intermodal, both dba of Radford Alexander Corp, specialize in chemical tanker cleaning services and tanker/ISO tank inspection and repair, respectively. With the combined entity, these services will be available to more customers and provide a “one-stop” shop for more chemical manufacturers/shippers.
