BNSF to establish bulk transloading center

The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Co (BNSF), based in Fort Worth TX, is planning a new logistics center at Fontana near San Bernardino CA, according to company information. BNSF is planning 72 bulk car spots with paved truck access, check point, truck scale, and a small administrative office building. Various bulk commodities will be handled in the bulk truck transloading operation with the exception of hazardous materials. Construction on the 38-acre site will begin in late 2004. The facility is scheduled to open in 2005.
