The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) has elected Eugene V N Bissell board chairman, Doug Auxier chairman-elect, Paul S Lindsey Jr vice-chairman, and Gerry Misel treasurer. Bissell is president and chief executive officer of AmeriGas Propane, Valley Forge PA; Auxier is president of Auxier Gas Inc, Batavia OH. Lindsey is chairman, CEO, and president of All Star Gas, Lebanon MO; Misel is president of Georgia Gas Distributors Inc, Atlanta GA.

Jeffery Hazle has been promoted to technical director with the National Petrochemical & Refiners Association (NPRA). He most recently served as director of lubes, waxes, and maintenance programs. Rick Brown, the group's new business manager, previously was deputy director of the Regulatory Affairs Department. Sharon Dey has joined the association as director of public policy and communications. She most recently was public affairs manager and senior public affairs counselor for Mobil Corp. Charles Drevna, hired by NPRA as director of technical advocacy activities, has served with Tosco Corp, the Oxygenated Fuels Association, and Sun Co and its affiliates.

Jack Hopkins has been appointed technical secretary for the International Tank Container Organization. A draftsman with Butterfield Tank 35 years and technical director at M1 Engineering 25 years, he joined Bulkhaul in 1993 to direct and manage its venture into manufacturing tank containers. He retired in 2001.

Effective July 8, Gregory M Cohen has joined the American Highway Users Alliance as vice-president — policy and government affairs. He previously served as a United States House of Representatives Transportation and Infrastructure Committee expert on highway engineering and environmental policy.

Peter J Vroom, president and chief executive officer of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association, has accepted a nomination to the United States Chamber of Commerce Association Committee of 100.
