Alliance Logistics commends top carriers

Midland MI-based Alliance Logistics Inc recognized five carriers with awards at its annual safety meeting May 13, 2002.

The Safe Driver Award was presented to Trimac Transportation Services Inc for its performance in managing Department of Transportation's driver out-of-service requirements. This year, Trimac also received the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC) Grand Award in the Over 75 Million Miles Class at the Heil Trailer International Safety Awards.

Safe Carrier Awards were presented to five carriers in recognition of an incident-free 2001: A&R Transport Inc; Bulk Transit Corp; Blue Flash Express Inc; TransPlastics, a division of Quality Carriers Inc; and Trimac. These carriers completed the year with no incidents while transporting product for Alliance Logistics.

A & R Transport Inc received the Performance Award, honoring the carrier with fewest customer complaints. The company also was honored with the Most Responsive Award. Bulk Transit Corp was presented with the Most Improved Award.

These individuals accepted awards on behalf of each carrier: Mike Tallaksen, vice-president of safety and compliance for A&R; Chris Broussard, safety director for Blue Flash; Brian DeWolf, vice-president of operations for Bulk Transit Corp; Rich Ramach, vice-president of operations for TransPlastics; and Dave Paul, manager of safety and training for Trimac.
