Agency chosen to give ATA an image makeover

PriceWeber, a Louisville KY-based marketing communications company, has been selected to develop a new image campaign for the American Trucking Associations (ATA).

The agency competed against eight others to win the Alexandria VA-based account. PriceWeber will focus its marketing and public relations abilities to develop a positive image for the nation's trucking industry, starting in 2004.

“The trucking industry and our professional truck drivers have an excellent story to tell the American public,” said Bill Graves, ATA president and chief executive officer. “Once people know more about how we contribute to their quality of life and about our commitment to their safety and security, their view of us can only improve. Price Weber's plan to build on this from within is very appealing to our members.”

When he became ATA president in January, Graves promised that promoting safety and the trucking industry's image would be hallmarks of his administration. He joined ATA after serving two terms as governor of Kansas, and comes from a family that was involved in trucking until 1979.
