Schneider National adds
orientation centers

Jun 20, 2008 2:39 PM

Schneider National, Green Bay WI, has added new-hire orientation centers at three new sites--Indianapolis IN, West Memphis AR, and Atlanta GA. The carrier now has 12 locations for the program, according to company information.

The sessions held at the locations are open to drivers who have gained professional truck driving experience either as an owner-operator or company driver. This is a weekly paid orientation program, with lodging and meal expenses covered by Schneider. Drivers who must travel more than 100 miles to the site will be compensated for their transportation expenses.

During the three-day orientation program, attendees receive an overview of pay, benefits, and other Schneider offerings. They also learn operating tips to best utilize the driver’s time and to better serve Schneider customers. Because safety is one of Schneider’s core values, orientation leaders (who are former Schneider drivers themselves) focus on best practices for keeping the driver and the motoring public safe on the road.

Other locations offering experienced driver orientation programs include Green Bay WI, Dallas TX, Carlisle PA, Charlotte NC, Fontana CA, Portland OR, French Camp CA, and Salt lake City UT. Schneider also has a site in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
