Alfred R. White of Swansea IL, the retired owner of Commercial Transport Company and a director of the National Tank Truck Carriers (NTTC), died May 26, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville IL. He was 89. Born December 8, 1918, in Belleville, White was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He served as president of the Motor Home Association; was a member of the Family Motorcoach Association and the South County Motorcoach Association; and was co-founder, past president, and an active member of the Lincolnlanders Motorcoach Association. White is survived by a son, Bob (Rhonda) White of O'Fallon IL; two daughters, Jerrie Lautz and Janet Kuehn, both of Belleville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Meyer.
