The National Transportation Safety Board has posted its full report of its investigation into a cargo tank rollover accident on its website.

The rollover involved a propane transport that rolled over in Indianapolis IN during October 2009 causing a major fire and resulting in serious injuries to the truck driver and the driver of another vehicle. In its August issue,

Bulk Transporter reviewed an NTSB preliminary report on the incident.

The report will be discussed in detail at National Tank Truck Carriers’ Annual Cargo Tank Maintenance Seminar in Louisville KY October 24-26, according to John Conley, NTTC president.

“One of the NTSB recommendations is that all cargo tanks be retrofitted with a rollover stability control system,” Conley says. We will have a panel of rollover equipment providers as part of our meeting.”
