The Marathon Petroleum Co LLC (MPC) Transport Operations group recently held its fifth annual Fleet Safety & Performance Banquet in Findlay OH. The event recognizes excellence in environmental, safety, and delivery performance.

Gold Level awards went to carriers delivering 100 million gallons or more, and the eight MPC proprietary fleet regions fall under this level. Silver Level awards went to carriers that deliver less than 100 million gallons a year.

Gold and Silver Level recipients for 2006 are:

• Run Outs — Gold: MPC OH South Region, Silver: Kane Transport

• Station Blends — Gold: AD Conner Inc, Silver: Lewis Transport

• Environmental Stewardship — Gold: MPC OH West Region, Silver: Usher Transport

• Fleet Image — Gold: MPC MI West Region, Silver: Brenner Oil Co

• Administrative Oversight — Gold: The McKinley Group, Silver: Bay Transportation

• Safety/Operational Oversight — Gold: MPC Southeast Region, Silver: Kane Transport

• Customer Service — Gold: MPC OH South Region, Silver: Crystal Flash

• Overflow Carrier — Gold: The McKinley Group, Silver: SOCI Petroleum Inc

These firms received outstanding recognition as well:

• Emergency Response: Jet Star Inc

• Fleet of the Year:

  • MPC Transport Region: MPC OH West Region, MPC Michigan East (runner-up)

  • Large Carrier: AD Conner, Klemm Tank Lines (runner-up)

  • Small Carrier: Crystal Flash, Liquid Transport Corp (runner-up)
