ITCO begins study
on carbon footprint

Jan 26, 2009 9:06 AM

The International Tank Container Organization (ITCO) has begun a study on the carbon footprint of tank containers compared to drums, flexibags, and parcel tanker ships.

"This has now become an important item for many chemical company customers and it is hoped that with this report our members will be able to demonstrate that tank containers have the best carbon footprint for moving bulk liquid chemicals," according to a report by ITCO president, Reginald Lee.

The study is expected to be completed in three-four months. Lee's report to ITCO members is posted online at itco.be.
