HTI president signs key policy statement

Greg Hewitt, president of Heil Trailer International (HTI) signed an important policy statement for the company’s Health and Safety Management System. HTI has always met or exceeded the requirements of relevant health and safety laws and regulations, and this signing reinforces and formalizes the company’s commitment to set new health and safety standards in the industry.

“We recognize our responsibility to conduct our operations as a good global citizen in providing our customers with high-quality products and services that are not harmful to our employees or the public,” said Hewitt. “Our policy is to be a responsible corporate citizen utilizing the principles listed in our commitment, which include meeting or exceeding the requirements of relevant health and safety laws and regulations, providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, prevention of injury and ill health, and striving for continual improvement of our health and safety system and performance.”

HTI is moving toward its goal of having all facilities quality, environmentally, and health and safety certified to ISO standards. All facilities are already are certified to ISO Standard 9001 (quality) except for the Kalyn Siebert facility in Gatesville TX, which will be quality-certified later in 2011. All facilities are certified ISO Standard 14001 (Environmental) and are currently on track for certification of ISO Standard 18001 (health & safety) by late 2011.
