Heil racecar finishes 26th in AdvoCare 500

Mike Bliss and the #32 Heil Trailer Ford Fusion racecar participated in both practice sessions September 9-10 at Atlanta Motor Speedway (posting a top speed of 177.023 mph during 30 laps of practice September 9). During qualifying the next day, Bliss put a lap down of 179.889 mph for FAS Lane Racing and the #32 Heil Trailer Ford, good enough to secure the 40th starting position for the AdvoCare 500.

The rain washed out the September 11 race in Atlanta. After a long struggle to dry the track, NASCAR rescheduled the race for September 13 at 11 am.

Overall, owner Frank Stoddard was pleased with the way the #32 ran. It was competitive with lap times early in the race and was running on the lead lap for the first third of the event, but caught a bad break during green flag pit stops that relegated the #32 a lap down to the leader. The crew worked hard to get back on the lead lap. Soon after the next caution, the #32 Heil Trailer Ford regained its position on the lead lap around lap 250 and managed to finish in 26th place.

“We would like to thank Heil Trailer International and partners (which include Hendrickson, Alcoa Wheel, Civacon, Accuride, Jost, and Kalyn Siebert) for their support in making the Atlanta race such a success,” said Stoddard.
