The Transportation Services Index (TSI) for freight fell 0.5 percent to 112.6 in June from the May level of 113.1, the first monthly decline following three consecutive increases.

The June 2005 level of 112.6 is 1.1 percent higher than the June 2004 level of 111.4, according to Department of Transportation information.

TSI is a single seasonally adjusted index of the month-to-month changes in the output of services provided by the for-hire transportation industries, including railroad, air, truck, inland waterways, pipeline, and local transit.
