Flint Hills to build new Texas fuel terminal

Mar 24, 2009 3:42 PM

Flint Hills Resources LP, Wichita KS, has announced the company will build a new fuel terminal near Austin to serve Central Texas.

"This new terminal will begin operating in 2010," said Brad Urban, Flint Hills Resources senior vice-president. "Census data has shown about 400,000 people moved to the Austin/San Antonio area in the last five years. This growth, which we expect to continue, is driving increased fuel demand."

The fuel terminal will include storage tanks and a four-bay truck-loading facility on property that provides access to the company’s proprietary refined products pipeline. The Flint Hills Resources terminal footprint will cover less than 15 acres of the Caldwell County property and is located near Texas Highway 130, between US Highways 183 and 21.
