The average price of diesel fuel nationwide increased for a second straight week, rising 1.5 cents to $2.231 a gallon, according to Department of Energy information.

This gain comes after last week’s 3.1-cent advance and puts this fuel $2.266 below the same week one year ago, DOE said. Diesel reached a four-month peak of $2.229 a gallon in mid-April before dropping 4.4 cents in the next three weeks and then going up 3.1 cents a week ago.
