Tank Cleaning meeting to highlight EPA issues

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) effluent guidelines and other regulatory subjects will be part of the National Tank Truck Carriers Tank Cleaning and Environmental Council meeting March 31-April 1 at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio TX.

Ken Shafer of Superior Carriers Inc and chairman of the Tank Cleaning Council will moderate the meeting. Two receptions are on the schedule, Monday, March 31, at 6 pm and again Tuesday, April 1, at 6 pm. The Tuesday reception will include those attending the cleaning meeting, as well as those attending the NTTC Safety Council meeting April 2-3. Mike Tallaksen of A and R Transport Inc and Safety Council national chairman, will moderate the safety meeting.

Other topics for the tank cleaning segment include:

•Foodgrade cleaning research update and its ramifications for other products.
•Tank cleaning from the prospective of a metallurgist.
•Fall protection interactive panel.
•Legal developments in the superfund program.
•Texas Air Quality Board update.
•Getting the most from equipment investment, particularly with proper spinner maintenance.
•Strategies for cleaning FRP tanks.

In addition to the seminar, the meeting will include tabletop exhibitors.
