Driver recruitment static for 2005

In what most carriers knew, or at least suspected, driver availability will remain a challenge through 2005.
It's that old good news, bad news scenario, according to information from FTR Associates, Nashville IN, the firm that made the projections for 2005.
The good news comes from the improving economy that is boosting trucking freight. The bad news is that the better the health of the trucking industry, the more carriers have to compete with other companies for drivers.
In addition, FTR pointed out that the ability to put drivers in vehicles has a major impact on individual fleet and industry expansion plans.
The FTR Driver Labor Market Indicators report looks at supply and demand issues as well as how freight and broader labor markets all affect the pool of available drivers.
