Former Groendyke president, Max Barton, dies

Funeral services for Max Barton, former president of Groendyke Transport, Enid OK, were scheduled for March 29 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid.

He died March 25, 2006.

Barton had a 47-year-long career with Groendyke Transport of Enid, Oklahoma, and served as Groendyke's president from 1981 to 1996.

He was very active in National Tank Truck Carriers and served as NTTC's chairman for the 1992-93 term.

Condolences can be sent to his wife, Beverly Barton, and the family in care of Groendyke Transport Inc PO Box 632, Enid OK 73702.
