The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is seeking nominations for professional truck drivers to serve on the 2009-2010 America’s Road Team.
The team, sponsored by Volvo Trucks North America, is a national public outreach program led by a small group of professional truck drivers who share superior driving skills, remarkable safety records, and a strong desire to spread the word about safety on the highway.
"America’s Road Team truly represents the best of the best," said ATA President Bill Graves. "The drivers selected to serve as Captains have impressive driving records and unmatched enthusiasm for their job and for the industry. I encourage the trucking community to nominate professional drivers they feel embodies the Road Team message of safety."
For the past 21 years, America’s Road Team Captains have traveled the country educating millions on the importance of safety, the essentiality of the industry and the need for pride and professionalism within trucking. America’s Road Team Captains appear at events ranging from driver safety meetings to National Truck Driving Championships to promote the Road Team message that, "Safety is our Driving Concern," ATA said.
