RUAN to acquire Kings County Truck Lines

RUAN Transportation Management Systems Inc, Des Moines IA, is acquiring 100 percent of the outstanding stock of Kings County Truck Lines Inc, Tulare CA, and other related entities of the carrier, according to the companies' information.

John Ruan III, RUAN chairman, Mike Kandris, RUAN president, and Manuel Mancebo, Kings County president and chief executive officer, jointly announced the transaction that is expected to close by the end of 2005.

The acquisition includes Kings County Truck Lines Inc and its affiliates, Cal Western Transport Inc, Fluid Transport Inc, California Milk Transport Inc, and MSM Trucking LLC.

Kings County operates 12 terminals in California, Oregon, Arizona, and Idaho, and employs approximately 600 people.

The carrier was founded in 1940 by Manual Mancebo Sr.

Kings County primarily hauls milk products in bulk tank, mainly in liquid form, from producers to processing plants and later processed products to distribution centers and store locations.

RUAN Transportation is a privately-owned, full-service transportation management company that provides dedicated carriage, logistic solutions, and RUAN-certified brokerage services.

The closing of the transaction is subject to the completion of RUAN's due diligence procedures and the completion of all of the definitive agreements required to document the transaction, according to the information.
