TWIC facility
suffers power outage

Oct 22, 2008 4:22 PM

The government facility that houses the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) system temporarily experienced a building-wide power outage October 21, but despite power restoration, part of the system that facilitates activations was affected, according to information from the Transportation Security Administration.

As a result, all activations booked for October 22 will have to be rescheduled. Enrollment, pre-enrollment, and status checks are still available services.

The administration will provide updates with more information as it becomes available on its Web site, as well as through its help desk, 866-DHS-TWIC.
