Vopak Horizon expands oil terminal

Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd is to expand the oil terminal's capacity by 360,000 cbm of new tankage and two new berths. After this expansion, the oil terminal will have a total capacity of 1.5 million cbm, six berths, and a single-point mooring system capable of handling vessels up to 175,000 deadweight tons (dwt).

This expansion will enable Vopak Horizon Fujairah to further improve its hub-function in the Middle East for black and clean mineral-oil products.

The expansion consists of:

  • Eight new tanks with a total capacity of 360,000 cbm capacity of tanks ranging from 30,000 to 60,000 cbm.

  • One new berth for vessels up to 110,000 dwt.

  • One new berth for vessels up to 60,000 dwt.

  • Two loading arms, 12", for white products.

  • Two loading arms, 16", for black products.

The expansion is expected to become operational in third quarter 2007.
