Aug 1, 2004 12:00 PM

OILTANKING GmbH, Hamburg, Germany, has acquired a Texas City, Texas, storage and terminaling facility with five tank truck loading racks that can handle 800 trucks per month.

In addition to tank trucks, the facility monthly schedule includes the ability to serve 18 tanker ships, 80 barges, and 475 rail tank cars.

Products on site include chemicals, petroleum, and gases.

The 89.8-million-gallon-capacity terminal was purchased from Union Carbide Corp, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dow Chemical, and is in the middle of an industrial complex, including three refineries and three chemical plants. Of the 102 commercial storage tanks, eight are propylene bullets.
