A&R Transport opens new terminal in Charleston

A&R Transport Inc, Morris IL, has opened a new terminal and 75,000-square-foot secured warehouse in Charleston SC.

“Due to a significant shift in the global movement of plastics and with an increasing amount coming from offshore in the future, we recognized an immediate need to establish a greater presence on the Eastern Seaboard," said Paul D Sweeden, executive vice-president business development and logistics operations. "The Charleston area offers a strategic location that will enable us to better serve the plastic industry.”

The new terminal is ISO 9001 certified and offers:

•Port drayage services

•Gaylord/Super Sack packaging and storage

•Export Super Sack to bulk truck and rail car

•Export lined container tilting for transfer to bulk truck or rail cars

•24/7 operating capacity

•Rail car transloading to bulk trucks
