TIMTC to facilitate
session at TMC meeting

Aug 30, 2010 10:01 AM

The Trucking Industry Mobility and Technology Coalition (TIMTC) will facilitate a Truck IntelliDrive and Smart Roadside session at the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) 2010 fall meeting September 22 in Raleigh NC.

Through this session, motor carriers can provide the US Department of Transportation with direct feedback on onboard technology issues. Also included in this session will be a discussion of the National Academy of Sciences’ (NAS) large-truck fuel efficiency study, as well as an update on the joint EPA/NHTSA rulemaking efforts.

The IntelliDrive program is a major initiative of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration’s (RITA) Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) program, in collaboration with NHTSA, FMCSA, and FHWA. The large-truck component of this program focuses on advancing connectivity among commercial vehicles and roadway infrastructure to improve transportation safety and mobility.

The TIMTC session, scheduled for September 22, has been structured to be an interactive dialogue between government and industry. For more information on IntelliDrive, go to www.intellidriveusa.org; for information on TIMTC, visit www.freightmobility.com.
