joins SmartWay

P E Kramme Inc, Monroeville NJ, has joined the SmartWay Transport Partnership.

SmartWay is a collaboration between the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the trucking industry designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.

The carrier will reduce 33 to 66 million metric tons of carbon dioxide and up to 200,000 tons of nitrogen oxide per year by 2012 by improving the environmental performance of its freight operations.

"Our Company is committed to doing our share to reduce greenhouse gases and conserve fuel by incorporating new technologies, practices and procedures in to our fleet and through forward thinking for all future fleet decisions with this goal in mind," said Karl Kramme, president.
