Oklahoma Tank Lines/United Petroleum Transports has named Daniel Reid as 2010 Professional Driver of the Year, according to Greg Price, president and chief executive officer.
“For more than 13 years, Daniel has been an outstanding representative for OTL/UPT and has safely logged over 1,050,000 miles,” said Price. “With over 27 years experience, he willingly shares his knowledge of the industry with others. Daniel is an anchor for the Wichita CSC and is the type of driver you build your entire fleet around. Safety, dependability, and respect are just a few of the character traits you will find in Daniel. He received the Driver of the Quarter award in 2006 and was a nominee for Driver of the Year in 2004, 2006, and 2008. Daniel became a professional truck driver because ‘he simply liked to drive.’”
Additionally, honored as the Recruit of the Year was Calvin Herrera of the Albuquerque (NM) Service Center. Going to that new member of the OTL/UPT team who is “professional, dedicated, and exceptional,” the award recognized Herrera for his knowledge of the trucking industry and his focus on safety as a top priority. Johnny Sheffield of the Albuquerque service center was named as 2010 Technician of the Year. During the past three years, Sheffield has displayed an outstanding level of service for OTL/UPT by being safe and keeping the fleet on the road.
