NEFI posts ethanol shipping information

The New England Fuel Institute (NEFI) has posted information on its Web site about shipping paper requirements for ethanol.
NEFI notes that the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) initially required all diesel fuel/biodiesel be listed on shipping paper documents as diesel fuel solution. However, PHMSA has decided to exempt certain biodiesel fuel blends up to five percent (B-5) from the diesel fuel solution shipping paper name, according to NEFI.
Information about the requirements is posted at nefi.com.
"Please note as well that the PHMSA requirements do not modify or replace shipping paper requirements for other regulators, such as the EPA's sulfur content descriptors," NEFI stated.
