FT Silfies launches
new bulk company

FT Silfies Inc, Nazareth PA, has launched a new company, Silfies Bulk Transport LLC in Aberdeen MD, for hauling various liquid commodities.
“We are very excited to expand our capabilities into the liquid bulk marketplace, however we will be a very specialized carrier only handling certain products for certain customers,” said Justin Risbon, operations manager for Price Trucking, an FT Silfies company, Aberdeen. “We didn’t want to confuse the market place or diversify our core trucking companies too far away from what they do best, as FT Silfies and Price Trucking are dry bulk aggregate carriers. We have drivers that are very experienced with liquid commodities, both hazardous and non-hazardous, and our insurance carrier protects us by having pollution coverage rolled back into our auto coverage.”
Bruce Donovan, senior vice-president, field operations, said: “This will be a very small operation dedicated to a single customer and a single product, but we are a for hire carrier and will look at additional opportunities as they arise, but we have no plans to compete in the long haul chemical market."
