DOD agency salutes Wanamaker’s support

The US Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the  Guard and Reserve agency honored Bill Wanamaker, American Trucking Associations  director of government traffic and security operations, with the Seven Seals  Award recently.

“The Seven Seals Award is the only Employer Support of  the Guard and Reserve award that bridges both the employer and ESGR volunteer  recognition awards program,” said Tom Bullock, ESGR chief of employer outreach.  “It was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide  significant achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the  ESGR mission.”

Wanamaker has managed ATA government traffic efforts  since 2000. Before that, he was senior lobbyist for the Helicopter Association  International and worked on Capitol Hill.

“National Guard and Reserve service members have never  been deployed in such a continuous and arduous engagement to protect the United  States as they have been for the past decade,” Wanamaker said. “Our industry  needs many thousands of employees that possess the work ethic and discipline  that is common among the best fighting force the world has ever known. I am  honored by ESGR’s recognition, and privileged to work for an organization and  an industry that supports these valiant men and women. They have served; now  it’s our job to employ them.”
